A Much Better Day
eBay update
My anger with eBay is starting to subside. I finally got an e-mail back and their reasoning for ending the auction is that it is against their policy to sell previously worn undergarments and this includes cloth diapers/training pants. This policy is found under their regulations for selling a*dult m*aterial which is why I got that type of warning. I'm glad to know that my eBay info didn't get hacked into. I can kind-of see where they are coming from here, but how many of the other cloth diaper auctions are for those that have been used??? Almost all of them! I'm still trying to get more insight from them. I think I'm just going to try and sell the Kissaluvs elsewhere unless I get the ok from eBay soon.
New Favorite Thing!
I got my new purse/diaper bag in the mail yesterday!! Isn't it wonderful?!? Even if no one else things so I love it. I ordered it from www.cherrypiebags.com. This style comes in many different colors. I saw about 5 I liked and had to resist to only one.
Daddy's Little Princess
We were all at Babies R Us one day and saw this cute little chair that we all fell in love with. We were looking for a chair for Sweet Pea, but this is not what we had in mind. Normally we do not buy stuff like this, but Mr. Man, the saver in the family, knew he couldn't resist getting this for his little princess. So this is our splurge for our little lady.

eBay Anger and Frustration
I was getting so excited about my eBay auctions until I checked my e-mail last night. My big seller Kissaluvs auction was cancelled due to a*dult m*aterial!! I don't know if someone hacked into my site and put something there or what happened. I didn't know that a picture of some cloth diapers lying on a sheet was so offensive. I hardly even described the items. Needless to say I am very angry and so far have not gotten a response back from the eBay people to explain what in my auction was against their policy. I just hope I can repost the diapers and the auction does well. I feel bad for the people who were bidding too. Plus, they got an e-mail explaining why the auction was canceled. I hope this doesn't hurt me in any way. Grrrrr!!!!

Random Blogging
This has been my first time selling anything on eBay, and so far it looks like things are going well. I've already gotten more than I had hoped for on one item and I think (and pray) that last minute bids will come in too. The bad part is I'm addicted to checking my auction stats. I tend to be an e-mail/internet junkie to begin with so this is not helping.
Onto another obsessive habit of mine, cloth diapers. I ordered a soaker pattern from Little Turtle Knits and have started on my second soaker. The first didn't turn out well at all, and the yarn I used didn't get much softer after lanolizing it. Thanks to my obsessing over learning more and more about cloth diapers I got an amazing deal on the cutest bag ever on eBay. Sadly I can't link to the picture anymore but I will put one up as soon as it arrives. Other diaper projects on deck are to try and make some prefolds out of some old t-shirts.
Our drawers are overflowing and something needs to be done. I don't know if it's spring cleaning, nesting, or the fact that it looks like we will be moving before this kid is born that is making me want to clean everything!! Things have gotten a bit trashy around our place since getting my toe worked on, but I'm slowly getting back into picking things up. I actually vacuumed the living room floor, stairs, and some other things in the living room. Now I just need the motivation to tackle our room. It's a disaster. It has been since we moved in and things need to be organized for whenever we move.
Onto the joy of moving...This will be our 4th time moving since arriving in Tennessee 2.5 years ago. How crazy is that?!?!? Thankfully this time it will be into a house. We found out this week that we were approved for a low-income home loan through the USDA (US Department of Agriculture). Thanks to the tip-off to this loan we can get a much better house than with a traditional loan. We look at our first three tomorrow. I'm really praying for God to show us the right house. I would love to find a great deal on a foreclosure or tax sale so our monthly payments are really low. I'm so glad we will be in our own place rather than renting, but the timing is not so great. This will be the second time moving while pregnant and that's not fun. I think that's why I want to downsize and get rid of our junk. There are some things that I just don't want to move again and say "oh we'll go though this later" because later never happens. It's time to get real. We're not to the extreme of needing the people from Clean Sweep to help us, but I would love to have that guy come and organize our lives, well at least our stuff.
Today at work I got to watch Facing the Giants. The building I work in is a staffing agency with amazing Christian owners. She showed this movie to motivate her staff and invited the office where I work to join them. Afterwards we all prayed together and were a crying mess. It was wonderful! The movie was pretty good too. It was made by a church down in Georgia and I highly recommend it. It's a good family film, which are so hard to find these days.
The other day I had a moment of victory with Sweet Pea...she ate Sweet Potatoes!! It was a proud moment. Sadly she's not feeling well or getting teeth and eating 3 foods again. At least she's eating...right?
Speaking of eating, I think I am eating enough cereal to feed a small nation. I think I'm up to around 3-4 bowls a day. I don't know why cereal is so good when I'm pregnant, but I can't get enough of the stuff. I'm so glad that we have WIC and we don't have to buy most of it. I'm also thankful to my grandparents who never let me eat sugar cereal when I was little. I can't stand the stuff so at least I'm eating semi-healthy food all day long. Cereal is better than ice cream 3-4 times a day, not that there's anything wrong with that either. Pregnancy cravings are an amazing phenomenon. I don't understand the strong power behind them at all. All I know is that when you want a cheeseburger you NEED a cheeseburger and you can't function until you consume it. There are times I try to resist, but there's no use anymore. I'll try to gain some willpower once this little guy is born.
Was that random enough? I'm sure there's more but I need grapefruit, and to start cleaning out some drawers. Wish me luck!

eBay Success!!
Thankfully I got a helpful response back from the eBay people. I used the old listing system and now everything is working! I just hope everything sells so we can get some new diapers for Little Man. If you are interested in looking at items go here.

Ebay Frustration
I don't know if it's me or the computer or something else, but I can't use ebay! I'm trying to list some cloth diapers and covers I want to sell and it won't work. I did e-mail the ebay people, but if any ebay savvy folks out there care to offer some advice to a brand new ebay seller I'm all ears.
Peas & Corn
Our darling Sweet Pea has decided that the only two vegetables that she will eat on a regular basis are peas and corn. No broccoli, carrots, sweet potato, potato, sometimes green beans, mixed veggies, NOTHING! Now I know things could be worse and she won't even eat peas or corn, but I'm afraid she'll get sick of eating these two things and we'll be stuck. Is this normal? I've heard kids go through their picky stages, but is it ok for her to be eating the same things every day? The kid grows like a weed so I'm sure she's fine. I'd appreciate any feeding suggestions.
On a better note my toe surgery went well, Praise God! Thankfully I'm not feeling any pain and I'm just limping around and will be for a while. Pink crocks are my shoe of choice with everything. I'm not even going to try and match because what's the point? If they didn't cost so much I'd invest in a black pair, but I really don't care.
I've also decided that I want to try diaper soakers into our cloth diapering mix. I'm in the midst of making one right now and we'll see how that goes. The yarn isn't that soft, but I'm hoping it will soften up after a good soak in lanolin. I'm thinking of investing in a good soaker and longies pattern. They are too cute and since we can't afford to buy a bunch and I can knit I might as well try to make some right? This is all good in theory I know, but we'll see what really happens. If anyone has soaker tips please send them my way because I'm new to this aspect of cloth diapering.

A Picture Says...Well, You Know
Praise God my foot surgery went well this morning! I was there at 5:30am and home by 9:30am. Everything went fine and even the food was good. Sadly I have to stay all bandaged up until Monday, so I will be stylin in my pink crocks everywhere I go.
This is the diaper I made from Diaper Kit. Like I said before it's not pretty, but I think it will still work just fine.
This was Sweet Pea's first experience with Rice Krispies. She was so excited to eat them they were all over her face and going up her nose. Mr. Man and I were laughing so hard. I'm glad we were able to get the camera in time to capture the moment.

Quiet Time?
I have started going to a new Wednesday night class at church on discipleship. So far, so good. The hard part is that you have 5 "assignments" each week to keep up on, and this week it was talking about setting aside 15-20 minutes of quiet time every day. Granted this is something I want to be doing, but what is quiet and when is there time? I would consider waking up early, but since I'm pregnant and I wake up during the night to trudge to the bathroom getting up early is just not an option. If I happen to come home during Sweet Pea's naptime then I might have a chance. My only real option is to make time after she goes to bed. This is hard too since there's nothing left of me by this time of day. All of this got me thinking about how I'm struggling getting things together with one child...what is it going to be like with 2?!?!? There is one couple in the class who have 6 kids and she just laughs because she hears me struggling with one and she wonders how she's going to keep up in the class with 6.
Onto another topic...foot surgery tomorrow:( I have to have minor outpatient surgery on my toe tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to this one bit. I got all of my labs and prework done today thankfully. So tomorrow we just need to get to the hospital and I hope things will go quickly. Sadly Mr. Man can't come back with me. The good news is that because they are just working on my toe I should be able to wear my own clothes and not a stupid hospital gown. The down side to all of this is that since I am pregnant they can't do much for pain as far as I know. I'll be getting a local shot to help, but after that things won't be fun. I am quite thankful that I own crocks because I will be wearing them with everything for the next few days. The other bad thing is that I can't eat after midnight tonight:( Not eating after midnight is ok, but not eating in the morning is not good for a pregnant lady, especially me. I get quite evil when I haven't had food. I hope things go fast so I can eat ASAP. Please keep me in your prayers that everything goes well and nothing strange happens.

My First Diaper Project
I finally made my AIO diaper from Diaper Kits! It was fairly easy to make and didn't take that long. Putting in the elastic was tricky especially since I was still trying to get used to using my new zig zag attachment. The diaper is not that pretty, but I think it will function for Little Man. I'll get a picture up as soon as I remember to take one. I think if I make any more diapers they will be a pocket diaper of some type since they're my favorite anyway. I would recommend this site if you want to try making a diaper without buying the pattern and more fabric than you might need.
I have also found a new favorite diaper cover. It is the Thirsties cover from Cotton Baby Bottoms. They are similar to Prowraps but these come in many colors, have crossover tabs, and a place inside to attach tabs to when washing so they don't get stuck to everything. These are going to be the new cover for us. I think I'm going to sew inner Velcro tabs to my Prowraps since I can and now have the idea to.
Along with making my first AIO I have made a bunch of inserts to put prefolds in. I finally found a site that sold suedecloth for cloth diapers. I ordered two squares of suedecloth and microfleece which made 6 inserts. I had bought two from Cotton Babies, but once I realized how easy they were to make I'm going to be making them for all our prefolds. I have some staydry liners but they always seem to bunch-up and move around once they're on Sweet Pea. This way everything stays in place and she stays nice and dry. Now I just need to know which material will be better for newborn poo. If you have an opinion let me know.

Cloth Diapers and Dawn Dish Soap
I tried using Dawn to "strip" my diapers of their mild stink today and it worked so well! The directions on the Cottonbabies site said to use warm water but I forgot and it worked anyway. Now they're all smelling nice and fresh and are really white. I didn't think that they were getting dingy at all, but this really brightened them up. I'll link to the site when I'm back at work since the Mac doesn't let me do such things.
Good news on the sewing front! I ordered a zig zag attachment for my Singer yesterday. I can't wait for it to get here so I can learn how to use it. Then I can make my cloth diaper kit and I'm going to try to shorten some of my prefolds. I hope it works because I hate the bulk of folding them over.
One of these days I will have something other than cloth diapers to talk about. Does real conversation still exist in this world? I'm really not sure anymore.

On a pattern hunt
I found a great deal on a baby bjorn the other week and now I'm on a search for a pattern to make a cover for it. I have found some "designer covers" on e-bay that I may try and get, but I haven't found one I really like yet that's not pink. I don't think I'm ready to design a cover pattern myself yet, but I think I could make one from a pattern. If anyone happens to know where I could find one let me know. Thanks:)

SNOW DAY!!
Ok folks, it snowed today!! Real snow! We took pictures to prove it. I didn't bring the camera to work so they will be up later. I actually had to brush snow off of the car. The sad part is it was raining when brushing off the snow so no everything is melting and is going to be a slushy mess. Thankfully the roads are not bad, but once the temperature drops it is going to be quite nasty out.
Mr. Man got his first day of school cancelled because of snow since being in TN. I took advantage of the time and went into work early. The building I work in is shut down for the day and there are only like 4 people here working. Gotta love snow in the south. At least I can get a few hours of doing not much in today.
I ordered a AIO (All in one) diaper kit from Diaper Kits. The good news is I think that I understand what to do, but the bad news is I'm going to need to find a machine with a zig zag stitch to make it. Maybe with the tax refund I can get a cheep machine that can do somethings that my grandma's can't. Though in all reality I should try and sell the thing to make some money I just can't seem to part with it yet. It is one of the few things I have from my grandma. I learned how to sew on this machine. It works great, but AHHHH! Oh the little issues in life.
Since Mr. Man and I rearranged some things in the house I decided to make a cleaning schedule. I crazy idea I know, but so far it seems to be working. I hope that setting a goal each day will help me to get things done and keep things clean. We'll see how long this lasts. I don't have a very good track record with the whole cleaning deal but I'm trying to be better. I don't want the kids to be a lazy non-cleaner like their mom. Along with chore planning I'm trying to do meal planning. I know these concepts are not new to people, but they're new to my life. Now we just need to file our taxes tonight so we can get money!! I will be very thankful for the years that we are in school, poor, and have kids for the tax return. I know it won't last forever, but at least there are a few perks for our place in life right now.
