Funny Ha Ha

I got this forward from my dad and it's great. The "story" ends in the area I grew up. I hope you get a little laugh.

The kids are doing better today. Despite having to strap Eli down to the changing table to suction his nose they are on the mend. Sadly we won't be going anywhere with them for the next few weeks just to be safe. I hope y'all had a great weekend.

PHONES IN CHURCH

A man in Topeka , Kansas decided to write a book about churches around the country. He started by flying to San Francisco and started working east from there.


Going to a very large church, he began taking photographs and making notes.

He spotted a golden telephone on the vestibule wall and was intrigued with a sign, which read "Calls: $10,000 a minute." Seeking out the pastor he asked about the phone and the sign. The pastor answered that this golden phone is, in fact, a direct line to heaven and if he pays the price he can talk directly to GOD.

The man thanked the pastor and continued on his way. As he continued to visit churches in Seattle, Dallas, St. Louis , Chicago, Minneapolis and around the United States , he found more phones, with the same sign, and the same answer from each pastor.

Finally, he arrived in Michiga n's Upper Peninsula, upon entering a church in Calumet, MI, behold - he saw the usual golden Telephone. But THIS time, the sign read "Calls: 35 cents."

Fascinated, he asked to talk to the pastor, "Reverend, I have been in cities all across the country and in each Church I have found this golden telephone and have been told it is a direct line to Heaven and that I could talk to GOD, but in the other churches the cost was $10,000 a minute. Your sign reads only 35 cents a call. Why?"


I love this part.............................


The pastor, smiling benignly, replied, "Son, you're in the U. P. now ...... You're in God's Country, It's a local call."

I hate when the kiddos are sick

My poor little man had to spend a night in the hospital this week. He's better now but the little guy has RSV and Bronchiolitis. We brought him to the ER in Cleveland on Monday night and he got a breathing treatment and was sent home. Then he started feeling worse and coughing more so to the doctors office we went. We were sent home with a nebulizer and did some treatments at home, but after his recheck on Wednesday they wanted to admit him. Thankfully he didn't have to get anymore treatments, he didn't need an IV and he was only there one night. Now he's back home slowly fighting off the virus.

Ari missed her brother so much. Mr. Man told me that when he brought Eli home she was running around screaming she was so excited. She has been super lovey towards him. Every time he starts coughing she says "you ok?...it's ok" It is the cutest thing ever. She's not feeling well either but she's old enough that the RSV shouldn't cause any worries.

Other than the kiddos being sick not much is going on. I've been working at the bank and like it so far. I'm about ready to quit my other job due to the stress and last minute crap that always come up. We have a major conference coming up and the next few weeks are going to be super crazy and I'm really not up for it right now. Especially with the kids being sick.

This week with Little man going to the hospital made me wish I didn't have to work so much. I hated that I couldn't stay overnight with him because I had to work the next day. I'm sure they would have given me another day off, but as the new girl I didn't want to ask and we needed the money. I could just work my Thursdays, Fridays and some Saturdays at the bank and we would be fine, but I don't know if I should leave the ministry. If I only worked 2 days Mr. Man could have a break from the kids and finish school work with a little less stress. AHHHHHHHH!!!! I love my kids and I like working but I don't know about working as much as I have been.

Right now we can't find someone to watch our kids on Thursdays when Mr. Man has class. He might have to change his whole schedule and doesn't want to. Because of this conference I have no time to help find someone to watch them. We were hoping to find a local college student, but have had no luck. No day cares in town accept part time kids. There are no mom's day out programs that are long enough. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO! Oh how I wish I could work Monday/Friday instead.

Once this crazy month is over I can't wait to spend some quality time with my sewing machine. I got the best sewing book ever. This book is wonderful. I wish I lived in NYC so I could go to her studio and learn more. First diapers need to be made for the kids and a friend, then some reusable grocery bags, and then try to make some clothing for me. Maybe by then I'll be able to lose a pound or two more. I know that's dreaming, but a girl can dream.

Happy New Year!

Happy new year everyone!

Well, it's another year. New year's came and went just like another day in our house. Just like every other year the resolutions are beginning. Mr. Man and I are going to try and eat better. I just wish I had his willpower when it comes to saying no to yummy, bad food. Getting on a routine would be nice, along with getting organized. We'll see what happens. Maybe exercise?

The biggest change of the day is I'm stopping breastfeeding:( I have such mixed feelings about this. Eli is really starting to move around and has a hard time staying still long enough to eat from me or a bottle. I want to keep going but it's becoming too hard. I made it longer than with Ari but still feel bad. I know I'll get over it soon enough.

Surprise Christmas Blessings

So for awhile now Mr. Man and I have been wanting to get a double stroller for the kiddos but it has never on the priority list by any means. Yesterday some friends from church came to our door with this stroller for us! I think Ari is more excited than any of us. Last night she did not want to get out of the thing. I fed her dinner in it, I put Eli in too and we played peek-a-boo, then they watched Mommy and Me in it. Almost the same thing happened today. I'll get a picture up soon. I went searching for the manual and found it retails around $660!!!

Every year our church gets products that they donate to people who need them in the community. Usually they get things like clothes, food, toiletries, etc. This year they got a ton of baby stuff. I feel so blessed that we were thought of this season.

Then I won some pretty sock yarn from The Ninja Knitter. To cool thing about this advent giveaway is the winners need to pay it forward. We're going to donate some toys, books, clothes, and food. I'd love to make some things too. So, if you have any good ideas please let me know.

On top of all this I'm training at a job that I think I'm really going to like and could open some good doors in the future.

"Nothing Says Love Like Leather for the Holidays"

I saw this on a marquee on the way to work the other day. I don't know what to think about it. I also don't know what to think about it being 70 degrees today. Mr. Man and I also did yard work on Saturday. IT IS DECEMBER PEOPLE!!! My family is coming here for Christmas and I think I should tell them to bring shorts. I don't think I'll ever get used to no snow at Christmas.

Some good news...
**Mr. Man is done with school until February!
**As long as the cough drop I had doesn't taint my drug test I'll have a job working as a part-time bank teller! It's Thursday/Friday only and as many Saturdays I want. I can't wait to work and see people every day.

Some sad news...
**The kiddos have been sick:( I hate when they are sick. At least they don't have to go to the doctor.

Well it's time to make a TO-DO list of everything that needs to get done before the fam gets here.

Sewin Like Crazy

With my sewing supplies moved downstairs I have been able to get some work done. Here are some of the diapers I have made. This weekends goal is valances for the kitchen, and maybe the dress I started for Ari months and months ago.





After these projects I need to find a super easy pattern for kids pants. Both of the kiddos are running out of pants but they don't fit in store sizes. I hope I can figure out how to altar a pattern to fit them.

Nothing else is really going on. We're getting whatever bug is going around right now. Eli is getting some teeth and is starting to scoot around on the floor. We're just waiting for the semester to end and Christmas to get here.


The Ari loves being a big sister
