My First Diaper Project

I finally made my AIO diaper from Diaper Kits! It was fairly easy to make and didn't take that long. Putting in the elastic was tricky especially since I was still trying to get used to using my new zig zag attachment. The diaper is not that pretty, but I think it will function for Little Man. I'll get a picture up as soon as I remember to take one. I think if I make any more diapers they will be a pocket diaper of some type since they're my favorite anyway. I would recommend this site if you want to try making a diaper without buying the pattern and more fabric than you might need.

I have also found a new favorite diaper cover. It is the Thirsties cover from Cotton Baby Bottoms. They are similar to Prowraps but these come in many colors, have crossover tabs, and a place inside to attach tabs to when washing so they don't get stuck to everything. These are going to be the new cover for us. I think I'm going to sew inner Velcro tabs to my Prowraps since I can and now have the idea to.

Along with making my first AIO I have made a bunch of inserts to put prefolds in. I finally found a site that sold suedecloth for cloth diapers. I ordered two squares of suedecloth and microfleece which made 6 inserts. I had bought two from Cotton Babies, but once I realized how easy they were to make I'm going to be making them for all our prefolds. I have some staydry liners but they always seem to bunch-up and move around once they're on Sweet Pea. This way everything stays in place and she stays nice and dry. Now I just need to know which material will be better for newborn poo. If you have an opinion let me know.
